Pedestrian And Bicyclist Hit/Killed In Houston
Two people were dead by early Thursday morning after being hit by vehicles overnight about a mile and a half from each other in northeast Houston.
The first happened around 10:30 p.m. A man was walking in the 10200 block of Mesa Drive when a vehicle traveling southbound on the road slammed into him, said Lt. Larry Crowson with the Houston Police Department.
"This is a kind of desolate area with low light," Crowson said. "That may have played a factor in the accident."
The driver stayed at the scene and did not exhibit signs of intoxication.
Just a few hours later, and a mile and a half away, a second Houstonian was hit and killed by a vehicle. This time, it was a bicyclist, pedaling westbound on Tidwell Road, off of Mesa Drive, Crowson said.
The person driving the vehicle took off after the collision, leaving the bicyclist by the side of the road in the 9300 block of Tidwell.
