2-Killed In Crash During Cypress Police Chase

Two men are dead and one woman is injured after a rollover crash near Cypress Station on Sunday, Harris County Sheriff's Office.

A man was speeding away from a marked Sheriff's Office patrol car on the North Freeway at about 6:30 a.m. Sunday, trying to avoid detention, the agency said.

He allegedly lost control of the car after exiting the freeway at Hollow Tree Lane. It struck a drainage ditch and rolled in the air several times. The driver, identified as Luis Renato Rios, and a front passenger both flew out of the car and died of their injuries at the hospital.

A female passenger in the back seat was not seriously injured, according to the sheriff's office.
