Burned Down His Own House Destroying Drugs

A far east Bexar County man is facing serious charges after he burned down his home to destroy his stash of drugs, authorities said.|

John Ames Miller is charged with possession of a controlled substance between 4 grams and 200 grams and unlawful possession of a firearm.

The Bexar County Sheriff's Office said Miller noticed a group of bounty hunters on the property and reportedly attempted to destroy a stash of drugs but also burned down the house in the process.

The fire happened Wednesday about 1:30 p.m. in the 6700 block of Billy Sames Road.

Authorities believe the home may have been used as a drug lab.
