Eric Vasquez (28) Has Died After Monday Crash

A man died Thursday after he fell asleep at the wheel and slammed into a wall in northeast Houston.

Police said Eric Vasquez, 28, was on his way home from work at 9:40 a.m. Monday, traveling west on the East Freeway when he slammed into a wall.

According to police, Vasquez said he fell asleep before he slammed into the wall.

Police took him to a hospital, where he died Thursday.
