Limited number of City Hall plantings available to residents Saturday, May 6
Construction of the new police station will soon begin at City Hall. In preparation, the City needs to remove the vegetation planted on the east side of the building and around the former Grease Monkey building.
On Saturday, May 6 from 8:00 to 11:00am, the City invites Shoreline residents to come take the remaining plants for repurposing.
A limited number of plants will be available on a first come first serve basis. Plants may not be resold.
Available plants include:
- 3 Acer Circinatum (vine maple) – 6 to 10 feet in height
- Numerous Rhododendron (Irene Koster) – 2 gallon size
- Numerous Vacinium Ovatum (Evergreen Huckleberry) – 2 gallon size
Residents will need to bring their own tools and vehicles to move the plants; however, City Parks staff will be on hand to help with removal.
On April 21, volunteers from the Washington Native Plant Society removed a number of the plants to replant throughout Shoreline’s park system.
For questions, contact Parks Maintenance Superintendent Kirk Peterson, 206-801-2611.
