DWI Driver Crashed Into Home - Man Killed

A man was killed and his wife injured Thursday night when an 18-year-old drunken driving suspect crashed a truck into their Mesquite home, police say.

Police said Steven Tutt was behind the wheel of a 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche at about 10 p.m. Thursday when he apparently lost control of the pickup and crossed the yard of a home on the 400 block of Seminary Ridge before smashing into one of the bedrooms.

When the pickup came crashing through the home's exterior wall it collided with 42-year-old Jose Reyes and 43-year-old Yesenia Vasquez.

Reyes died from his injuries while Vasquez was hospitalized. Her family expected her to be released from the hospital Friday afternoon.
