Sharon Kay Vinson From Abilene Killed In Crash

An Abilene woman was killed Thursday night in a single-vehicle accident on Hwy 83 -- about 2.1 miles north of Abilene -- in Jones County.

According to the preliminary investigation, Sharon Kay Vinson, 58, was headed south on Hwy 83. Around 10:30 p.m., she passed another vehicle about two miles north of Abilene. After passing the other vehicle, Vinson swerved hard to the right.

Her 2003 Honda CRV rolled across the service road and into a field. It landed upside down in the fence line.

Vinson, who wasn't wearing a seat belt, was ejected. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
