Jana Mcelyea (36) Killed By Hit & Run Driver

Police have identified the woman who died following a hit and run accident in Bellmead.

According to Bellmead Police, 36-year-old Jana Mcelyea was hit by a vehicle near the corner of New Dallas Highway and Montrose Street. Police responded around 9:15 Monday night and found Mcelyea wearing all black clothing.

She was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police said she died of her injuries. There was no description of the vehicle available.

Detectives are investigating the incident and are asking anyone with information to call the Bellmead Police Department.
