A major North Texas interstate is closed in both directions due to a fiery crash in Denton.

Police say an 18-wheeler struck a guardrail and burst into flames Tuesday at about 11:30 a.m.

It happened on Interstate 35W at Interstate 35E. Northbound I-35 and southbound I-35/35E are shut down at this time.

Thick black smoke is billowing into the sky and can be seen from several miles away.
