At least two people are dead and six people are trapped in a major accident in Navarro County.

According to the Navarro County Office of Emergency Management, the accident happened in the northbound lanes of Interstate 45 at mile marker 234 around 10pm.

Multiple ambulances and a helicopter are en route.

Traffic is shutdown northbound.

Lanes are expected to reopen after midnight.

Officials advise travelers to take the business 45 exit through Corsicana.
