An elderly man has been hit by a train in Elm Mott.
According to the McLennan County Sherrif's Office, a man was hit by a train and killed.
John Ray Garner, 62, of Elm Mott was killed.
He lived on Leroy Parkway.
Next of kin has been notified.
The train was stopped.
It's unknown why the man was there, but deputies say he was walking across the tracks when he was hit.
He may have been getting groceries from a nearby store.
Beer bottles were found at the scene.
Crossing arms were working and active.
The investigation is on going.
