Major Weekend Condominium Fire In Rockport TX

Rockport fire investigators have released more information about a fire at the Key Allegro Condominiums.

Firefighters were called at 2:38 p.m. Saturday afternoon after getting several calls of smoke seen coming from the top of a two story condominium.

When crews arrived, investigators say they saw heavy smoke and flames and decided to attack the main part of the fire while other firefighters from Fulton and Lamar Volunteer Fire Departments assisted with spraying down other areas of the condominium outside.

Investigators added due to the construction of the Condominiums having a common attic space multiple ventilation holes were created in the roof to stop the spread of fire and allow smoke to escape.

Two firefighters suffered heat exhaustion and were treated by emergency medical crews at the scene. KRIS-TV
