Richardson police say the body of a small child was found Sunday morning during the search for missing 3-year-old Sherin Mathews.
The body was found in a culvert around 11:00 a.m. in the area of E. Spring Valley Rd. and S. Bowser Rd. The area has been blocked off as a crime scene. Police said they have not confirmed that the body is that of Mathews and are still awaiting positive identification. Police indicated they have no reason to believe the body is of a different child. The location where the body was found is half a mile from Mathew's home. The condition of the body has not been released and no arrests have been made.
Police say they have notified the Mathews family. Sherin's father Wesley Mathews was arrested and charged with child endangerment after she disappeared October 7th. He told police he put her outside at 3 a.m. as punishment for not drinking her milk. FOX4NEWS

Sherin Mathews disappeared in the early morning of October 8 after her adoptive father Wesley Mathews put her outside their home for not drinking her milk.
The body was found around 11 a.m. in a culvert underground during a search operation in the area of Spring Valley and Bowser Road and has not yet been properly identified.
The medical examiner's office is working to confirm the identity.
The area around Spring Valley and Bowser is now a crime scene. That area will be blocked off off for some time. WFAA
