Friends Take Teen To Hospital After He Was Shot In The Head
A 15-year-old boy was shot in the head at a park in Garland Friday evening, police say.
The shooting was reported just after 5 p.m. in the 1500 block of Dairy Road at Embree Park.
Garland police say after the teenager was shot, he was transported by his friends to Baylor hospital. From there, he was transported via CareFlite to Children’s hospital.
According to police, the teenager is on life support. His identity has not been released. DFWCBSLOCAL
Garland Police spokesman Lt. Pedro Barineau said officers were called to the Emergency Department at Baylor/Scott & White Medical Center-Garland after the teen arrived there in a private vehicle at about 5:15 p.m.
Witnesses who brought the boy to the hospital told officers the shooting happened on the south side of Embree Park at 1515 Dairy Road near the basketball courts. Officers searched the park for evidence while investigators interviewed the witnesses to determine the circumstances behind the shooting. WFAA
It happened around 5:15 p.m. near the park's basketball courts. Police say the victim was taken in a private vehicle to a Garland hospital and that's where police were notified. He was then transferred to Children's Health in Dallas in critical condition. Police interviewed witness at the park but have not arrested anyone. FOX4NEWS
