High School Football Game Forfeited When Officials Did Not Show Up

Millions of Texas love to watch Friday night football in small towns and large cities around Texas. Sadly, last night rather than enjoying a great game – two teams were forced to forfeit theirs, because officials did not show up. What a terrible disappointment for those two teams, schools and fans.

The game was supposed to be played last night in Riesel, Texas – a small town not far from Waco. The opposing team was from Itasca. It’s not known exactly why the officials did not show up to call the game, but Itasca traveled a long distance to play and for the home team (Riesel) it was senior night, which is always a big deal.

According to news reports, Riesel requested officials for the game as they were supposed to – but they just did not show up.
