Austin Alexander, 21, Killed In Crash Near Odessa Friday Night

According to DPS, 21-year-old Austin Alexander is dead following an accident eight miles west of Odessa on Highway 302.

Authorities say the crash happened around 8:00 p.m. Friday night.

According to authorities, two vehicles were involved in the accident, a 2017 Ford pick-up truck pulling a flatbed trailer, and, a 2001 Freightliner truck tractor.

They say that both vehicles were traveling east-bound on Highway 302 when the pick-up truck rear ended the truck tractor.

This caused the pick-up truck to veer off and land in the middle of the field.

Alexander who was a passenger in the pick-up truck was transported to Medical Center Hospital in Odessa where he was later pronounced dead, while the driver of the pick-up truck 20-year-old Cody Serviss was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
