Oh! They're playing league soccer again?

Last week was domestic cup week. This weekend they are back at it. God's Blue Tremendous Machine play tomorrow at Fenway. Toughest match to date for the Angels. Klippity Klopp Klopp Klopp has them playing like a Big Red Machine. The Livers always have been able to score, it's been they're defending and goalkeeping that have kept them back. They have had an eventful transfer window, finally selling Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona (they don't really need scorers) and, and this was a coup, signing Virgil van Dijk, one of the best defenders in the EPL from Southampton. Broke the world transfer fee record for a defender, they did; it was just what the doctor ordered. They're still shaky in goal, they didn't replace Simon Mignolet, but they are in top form, have an excellent manager and City have not won at Fenway since...since before it was Fenway, back when it was called Anfield, 36 years ago! Very difficult match for City tomorrow. If Liverpool loses, oy. I see them going into a funk (And I see arrests for domestic battery dominating the front page of the Echo.) It's not about catching City, they're not going to do that, nobody is going to do that, it's about validating their progress under Klopp. A "big club," well managed, well run, on a run, top four, that club, Liverpool, should absolutely win this match.

Speaking of matches one club just has to win, that was the case today at St. James Park. And they didn't. Newcastle drew 0-0 with 20th out of 20 Swansea. That's another well managed (Rafa Benitez) team. Been a yo-yo team for the last couple of years. Down to the Championship; up to the Premiership; down; up, I think it has been four years they've been yo-yoing. I was surprised when I was in Bimini, my son and I were watching ESPNFC and the consensus of their experts was that Newcastle was going down again. It is a real shame, that is a storied club, huge stadium, St. James holds like 57,000. They have had a shit owner for the last sever...Oh. I forgot.

Wanna see another one? I do.
I mean...
Jeezus Criminy

That is NOT Newcastle's owner, that dolt's name is Mike Ashley,
Hey Mike.

that is Newcastle's prospective NEW owner. That is Amanda Staveley. That is...Okay, let's see: you're BEAUTIFUL, you're RICH...That is unfair (unless you're her husband) is what that is. Newcastle fans are extremely desirous of new ownership...on more than one level.

Swine Chelsea drew 0-0 with Lester at the Bridge today. Third straight goalless draw for the Blues. Chelsea sits third, 15 pints behind City, Lester is eighth, in the table.

The Harry Kane Club is beating the Wayne Rooney Club 3-0 at Wembley. Spurs are fifth, Everton ninth. You know, I've always wondered...

I don't know, some other clubs played, the only result that stands out is Huddersfield (13th) got hammered by the Hammerheads in the Town 4-1. Hammerheads (11th) don't do much hammering.
