Miami beat Detroit tonight in the epic battle for eighth place. yay.
I then checked the standings. The "Heat" are four games clear of the "Pistons," not whatever I wrote it was last night. That's a significant cushion, one place over the next. In fact Miami is as close to...get this, Cleveland in third place as the "Pistons" are to Miami. Wuhtuhfuh? Cleve is 8 1/2 games out of first. I thought they turned it around after the draft deadline and I stopped paying attention. I now repaid attention. Cleveland lost last tonight. In the Pawn Shop. To Denver, decent team Denver, I don't know how that happened but the "Nuggetinos" are a decent team, 35-28 record to Cleve's 36-26, But. Cleve Denver beat 'em pretty comfortably, by nine points--In Cleve now.--and there still is no "D" in their name, they gave up 126 tonight. And. Denver played their second road game in two nights AND their third road game in four nights. And they still beat the "Cavs" in Cleve by nine?! "What is Cleve's record since the trade deadline?" to self. "When was the trade deadline?" first. Feb. 8. "What is their record since Feb. 8?" 5-4. "Five and four?" That ba-lows. 5-4 is winning at a 55.5% "clip." "What was their record before the trade deadline?" 31-22. "31-22. That sounds better than 5-4! Is it?" "It IS!" 31-22 is 58.5%." "Holy crap. They've gotten WORSE since the trade deadline!" "Why did I think they had turned it around?" "Ah. They won their first three after Feb. 8, all on the road too. All over good teams, too...No, Atlanta blows, two of the three teams, Boston and OKC, are good.
I have triple-checked it. Clevelan IS 5-4 since the Feb. 8 trade deadline. That IS worse than 31-22, their record before the deadline. And they HAVE gotten worse since then. Mind. Ba-lown.
