Port Arthur Teen With Snake Was Shot By Neighbor
A 16-year-old was shot in his shoulder Monday night on Sabine Avenue.
He is expected to survive. The Port Arthur Police Department is actively investigating the shooting, according to a statement released by the city Tuesday.
An officer responded to a shooting at 7:19 p.m. in the 1100 block of Sabine Avenue.
Police say it may have stemmed from an argument between neighbors.
They say the 16-year-old victim went up to a man with a snake, then police say the man shot the juvenile.
The 16-year-old boy sustained a gunshot wound to his shoulder and was taken Christus St. Elizabeth hospital.
Chief Patrick Melvin says no one has been charged, but his department plans on filing charges with the district attorney's office against the shooter.
